  18. 1.  Workarounds for Known Bugs, please do not report.  They are being
  19. worked on as of this writing.
  20.  
  21. a.  48 Row limitation on Recalculation in Natural Calculation Order
  22.  
  23. If a formula is filled down more than 48 rows, in Natural Calculation
  24. Order only the first 48 rows will recalculate.  
  25.  
  26. Workaround:  This can be avoided by switching to Row by Row or Col by Col
  27. calculation order.
  28.  
  29. b.  Extract, Delete and Find Database Criteria pick out records that both
  30. match the criteria AND have a BLANK CELL in the fields (columns) used by
  31. the criteria.  The result is that extra records will be found, deleted, or
  32. extracted.  If the criteria is used in a database function such as DSUM,
  33. the results will be erroneous too large.
  34.  
  35. Workaround:  These errors can be avoided by putting in a dummy character
  36. instead of a blank in the field used by the criteria for each record in the
  37. database.
  38.  
  39. c.  Cell protection violated by Macro.
  40.  
  41. Workaround:  No known workaround. Avoid using macros on cells of a worksheet
  42. that are Protected.
  43.  
  44. d.  ROUND function gives erroneous results for larger numbers.
  45.  
  46. Workaround:  No known workaround.
  47.  
  48. e.  SELECT function in an Automatic Macro may select cell on macrosheet
  49. instead of worksheet, even if cell adress properly denoted.
  50.  
  51. Workaround:  No known workaround.  Macro must be executed manually to
  52. select cells on worksheet properly.
  53.  
  54. f.  Execution of ESC key while in a database Find Mode in a Macro aborts
  55. the execution of the Macro.
  56.

  59. g.  Colors confused when printing worksheets in color.

  63. h.  Most Amiga 2000 numeric keypad operator keys inoperable.

  67. 2.  Using System Clipboard
  68.  
  69. On the Edit Menu are two new menu items for Importing and Exporting Data
  70. to and from other programs via the System Clipboard.  To export data,
  71. select the range of data to be exported and select the Ext.Copy menu item
  72. on the Edit Menu.  This saves the data to the System Clipboard where it
  73. can be copied into another product which utilizes the System Clipboard.
  74. To  import data from the System Clipboard, move the active cell to an area
  75. to the worksheet that will accomodate the data and select the Ext.Paste
  76. menu item on the Edit Menu.  Note in the current release Ext.Copy and Ext.
  77. Paste may not be compatible with all products that use the System
  78. Clipboard.
  79.  
  80. 3.  Freeze Titles
  81.  
  82. MaxiPlan can Freeze any number of Rows from the top and
  83. number of Columns from the left.  
  84.  
  85. To execute Freeze Titles:
  86.  
  87. *  select a Range of Cells such that the bottom right most
  88.    Cell designates the boundary of Freeze Titles
  89. *  pull down the Options Menu and select Freeze Titles and
  90.    then select one of the Submenu Items:
  91.       - None
  92.       - Rows (Horizontal)
  93.       - Columns (Veritical)
  94.       - Both
  95.  
  96. When you print with Freeze Titles, the Column Headings and Row Headings
  97. will appear on all pages of the printout.
  98.  
  99. 4.  32,760 Rows in MaxiPlan 500 and Plus
  100.  
  101. MaxiPlan 500 and Plus have been limited to a maximum Worksheet size
  102. of 32,760 Rows.
  103.  
  104. 5.  Installation of MaxiPlan Plus on a new Workbench Disk
  105.  
  106. Your Amiga computer comes with a Workbench Disk.  MaxiPlan Plus
  107. is a bootable disk in that it has Workbench 1.2 installed on it
  108. already.  You may wish to transfer MaxiPlan either to a backup
  109. copy of your Workbench or onto a copy of any new version of the
  110. Workbench that may subsequently be released. 
  111.  
  112. When installing MaxiPlan onto a new Workbench, you will want to
  113. install a special set of Fonts which are only used by Charts in
  114. a high resolution mode.
  115.  
  116. To install MaxiPlan on a new Workbench Disk, be certain to copy
  117. the entire MaxiPlan drawer, not just the program.
  118.  
  119. To install the special Trantor font set:
  120.  
  121. Assuming you place MaxiPlan disk in df1 and your new system or
  122. boot disk in df0:
  123.  
  124. From CLI type:
  125.  
  126. *  COPY DF1:TRANTOR.FONT DF0:FONTS <CR>
  127. *  MAKEDIR DF0:FONTS/TRANTOR <CR>
  128. *  COPY DF1:TRANTOR/16 DF0:FONTS/TRANTOR <CR>

  130. 6.  Hard Disk Installation
  131.  
  132. When installing MaxiPlan on a Hard Disk a few points must be
  133. kept in mind.
  134.  
  135. *  The whole directory should be copied not just the MaxiPlan program
  136. *  The directory should be copied to the Root directory of
  137.    the Hard Disk
  138. *  Install the special Trantor font set for using Charts in high
  139.    resolution or 44 line display mode.
  140.  
  141. 7. When generating a Mail Merge output to a Disk File, there is no
  142. Icon created.  You must access the Disk File from the File Selector
  143. or CLI.
  144.

  150. 8.  Printer Control Menu
  151.  
  152. Version 1.8 introduces a new Menu in the Control
  153. Window which has the most frequently used printer
  154. commands used in Preferences.  This Menu called
  155. the Printer Control Menu has the 8 Menu Items
  156. listed below.
  157.  
  158. *  Printer Output with two Submenu Items
  159.       - Black & White
  160.       - Color
  161. *  Print Type Size with three Submenu Items
  162.       - Pica (generally 10 characters per inch)
  163.       - Elite (generally 12 characters per inch)
  164.       - Fine (generally 15 characters per inch)
  165. *  Set Left Margin
  166.    (brings up a Requester for keying in character location)
  167. *  Set Right Margin
  168.    (brings up a Requester for keying in character location)
  169. *  Set Page Length
  170.    (brings up a Requester for keying in number of lines)
  171. *  Perform Form Feed
  172.    (automatically inserts form feed before printing)
  173. *  Line Spacing with two Submenu Items
  174.        - 6 Lines

  180. 9.  Setting Column Widths with the Mouse
  181.  
  182. A new feature of MaxiPlan Plus and 500 is the ability to change the width
  183. of an individual column with the mouse.  You will notice there is a fine
  184. line on the worksheet border designating the boundary of each column.  To
  185. change the width of a column, just move the pointer to the righthand
  186. border of a column, depress the left mouse button, reposition the
  187. column border to a different position, and then release the mouse button.
  188. The column will now have a different width.  Thus the column can be
  189. changed as you are entering data should you find that it is not wide
  190. enought to accomodate your data.  You can also make a column narrower by
  191. the same method.

  193. 10.  Dithering of Charts
  194.  
  195. On the Color and Options Menus of the Chart Drawing window are new menu
  196. items for executing Dithering of the Charts.  
  197.  
  198. Dithering is a speckle pattern of a complimentary or contrasting color
  199. which gives your charts a 3D look, and an alternative look to MaxiPlan
  200. Charts.  Dithering can be applied to the Border area of the Chart as well
  201. as the Data area.  
  202.  
  203. On the Options Menu of the Chart Drawing window, is the Dither option.
  204. This must be turned on to activate Dithering.
  205.  
  206. On the Color Menu are two menu items to determine the Dithering color for
  207. the Border area and Data area of the Chart respectively.  You can
  208. experiment with different colors until you find the combination which is
  209. the most appealing.

  211. 11.  Pattern Option for Charts
  212.  
  213. When MaxiPlan is set up for Color output, the Charts are displayed with
  214. solid color components such as Bars, Pie slices, lines, etc.  In Grey the
  215. default is to display these components with patterns, i.e. diagonal
  216. stripes, horizontal stripes, plaid, etc.  You now have the option of
  217. choosing either type of display for either Color or Grey printout option.
  218. The Menu Item Patterns on the Options Menu in the Chart Drawing Window
  219. determines if the Pattern option is on or off.
